The objective of the AAOL-T is to advance the understaning of aero-induced effects — with an emphasis on transonic flight — through computations, wind-tunnel testing, and subsonic and transonic flight tests. We also provide a flight platform for beam control experiments.

Notre Dame owns a Falcon 10 SN 177 with a special door configuration/turret that allow for our testing events.

We fly in tandem formation so that our source diverging laser beam propagates ~50M to the laboratory aircraft.
