Carson Kipp

Biography

Carson joined the Aero-Optics group in the Summer of 2024 and works under Dr. Gordeyev where he aims to receive his PhD in aerospace engineering. He earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering with a concentration in aerospace engineering and a minor in computer science from the Honors College at Michigan State University. While there, he researched non-newtonian fluid dynamics for biological flows and the mechanics of magnetically actuated swimmers with the intent of future nanorobotic applications. Carson's additional work experience includes his time at Johnson Controls International as a systems engineer and at Tesla Motors as a controls engineer. Outside of work, Carson enjoys watching baseball, fishing, and traveling with friends.
